After decades of local government run by the Crumb family, the City of Fairfax has a brand new mayor! Let's meet some of the faces running Fairfax City Hall.
New Mayor Iris Peters is no stranger to our community, having served in the Fairfax elementary school system for over 40 years, most of those spent as a principal. After upsetting the former mayor at the last election (actually, he got himself arrested but whatev) her energy and
old school brand of discipline will put out many fires. Hopefully her mouth won't start any.
Deputy Mayor Bill Clarke will be a calming influence at City Hall, having served in the previous administration under Frank Crumb. Despite helping the former mayor in his campaign to defeat Iris, we're sure one of Fairfax's most eligible bachelors will have no problem smoothing things over
with council's #1 lady. Being #1 with the ladies is what the British ex-pat does best.
Scott Lindford has been City Manager through five consecutive terms. Our resident germaphobe's love for bureaucracy is matched only by his thrifty nature and meticulous attention to cleanliness. It's this eye for detail that serves our citizens so well, even if it drives his co-workers up the wall.
Hey everyone, it's Maxine Williams! She's made her way into politics as Iris' Communications Director after a career in showbiz. While this is the first time she hasn't had a clothing budget, she'll do everything she can to keep Iris looking fabulous. Oh, and handle media stuff too.
Fairfax residents will recognize Trevor Jones from the community centre where he used to run youth programs. He's been tapped by Iris to be her new Assistant, which is no small feat given Trevor's general mistrust of all government agencies. The truth is out there; hopefully he'll find it on his own time.
It's no surprise that city hall security is entrusted to Mr. Lee. He's a trusted friend of our new mayor who spent many years honing his craft in the Korean secret service. He could share many stories with you about his adventures ... if he wasn't so busy romancing every Fairfax female over 65.
